Data collection
AIComp 2026 is hosted by the University of British Columbia, Convergent Manufacturing Technologies, Composites Research Network, and the Composites Knowledge Network (“us”, “our”, “we”, or “AIComp 2026”). Data collected from and submitted by you may be shared between these entities as necessary.
This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use or access the AIComp 2026 website (the “Service”) and the choices you have associated with that data. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Definitions
Service
- The Service is the https://www.composites-ai.org conference website operated by UBC, CMT, CRN, and CKN.

- Personal Data means data about a living individual who can be identified from those data (or from those and other information either in our possession or likely to come into our possession).

- Usage Data is data collected automatically either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).

- Data Processor means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Data Controller. For the purpose of this Privacy Policy, WordPress and Avada are the main Data Processor of your Personal Data.

- Data Subject is any living individual who is using our Service and is the subject of Personal Data.
Information Collection and Use
- We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide functions of the Service, as related to the AIComp 2026 conference.
Types of Data Collected
While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you (“Personal Data”). Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:
- Email address
- First name and last name
- Phone number
- Address, State, Province, ZIP/Postal code, City
- Cookies and Usage Data
We may use your Personal Data to contact you in response to conference enquiries or updates, abstract submissions, or other information that may be of interest to you. You may opt out of receiving any, or all, of these communications by contacting us.
How we use personal data
Data collected through any form submission, including metadata, will be retained until _, unless a request is made to remove this data.
Data related to Abstract submissions will be retained indefinitely as part of AIComp’s conference history
If you have submitted data via a contact form on AIComp 2026’s website, your personal information can be accessed by:
- Our system administrators
- The Avada support team, when they (to provide support) need to request information
Where we store personal data
Data submitted through any form submission on AIComp 2026’s website is collected through WordPress Avada’s US-based web servers. Avada’s hosting provider, WPEngine, adheres to the EU/US “Privacy Shield,” ensuring that data is securely stored and GDPR compliant. This same data is also collected, processed, and stored on AiComp 2026’s Canadian-based encrypted servers, supported by Datto.
Transfer or disclosure of information to a third party
We will not disclose your personal data to third parties except as follows:
- when we believe disclosure is reasonably required to comply with any law or legal request;
- to enforce our legal and contractual rights, or to protect the rights and safety of others;
- to third parties who help us provide any part of the Site or the Services, to the limited extent required for such help, and on condition that they may not further disclose your data or use it for any other purpose
Disclosure for Law Enforcement
Under certain circumstances, AIComp 2026 may be required to disclose your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g. a court or a government agency).
